The Griffins play Huntington Beach, which handed the Los Alamitos its only league loss, on Tuesday.

Peninsula 12, Calabasas 6
The No. 1 doubles team of junior Erica Schweyer and freshman Rika Tatsuno dropped just two games in winning three sets, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0, as Peninsula, ranked No. 4 in the region by The Times, upended top-ranked Calabasas in convincing fashion at Calabasas.

Calabasas and Peninsula were ranked No. 1 and No. 2 respectively, in the Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll going into the match, but Peninsula (15-0) continued a season-long roll by winning all nine doubles sets, in which the Panthers’ three teams combined to surrender just 10 games.

Schweyer, a versatile player who contributes in singles and doubles, has played with various partners this year and lost just two doubles sets. In other doubles sets, sophomore Tania Mahtani and freshman Emily Aston won, 6-2, 6-0, 6-1, and Illinois-bound senior Macall Harkins and junior Paige Weber won, 7-5, 6-1, 6-0.

Senior No. 1 player Alex Jurewitz picked up two of the Panthers’ three singles victories, beating Calabasas’ Celia Durkin, 7-5, and Eileen Chang, 6-0, and losing, 6-2, to junior Amanda Fink. Freshman Stephanie Chen had Peninsula’s other singles victory.

Calabasas (13-1) played without sophomore Kristen McVitty, who was sidelined by illness. Fink won three sets for the Coyotes.

Santa Barbara 10, Irvine University 8
Whitney Peterson swept at No. 1 singles, 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 and Roxanne Teti swept, 7-5, 6-1, 6-1, at No. 3 singles to lead No. 9-ranked Santa Barbara (12-3).
