Smithsonian and Bill Cosby: In the July 31 Calendar section, an article about the Smithsonian’s Museum of African Art exhibition of Bill and Camille Cosby’s art collection misattributed the following quote: “An exhibition focused on this collection raises questions about conflicts of interest, especially given that displaying the collection could significantly raise its economic value.” The quote should have been attributed to UCLA art history professor Steven Nelson, not gallerist Michael Rosenfeld.

DWP and city budget: In the July 31 California section, an article about the possible infusion of revenue to the city of Los Angeles’ general operating budget from future utility rate increases included the headline “Higher rates for pipe fixes would boost L.A. general fund too.” As the article noted, operating revenue transferred by the Department of Water and Power to the city’s general fund budget comes exclusively from the utility’s electrical side. Proposed increases in water bills would not contribute to the fund.

Metro Expo Line: In the July 31 California section, an article about a Metro train being tested in downtown Santa Monica as part of the Expo Line expansion referred to Kevin McKeown as the city’s mayor pro tem. He is the mayor.
