Immigrant sponsors: In the Nov. 15 Section A, an article about the federal government placing immigrant youths with sponsors took out of context a quote by Maria Woltjen, director of the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights. Woltjen did not say that more oversight is needed of the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement, which places youth with sponsors. When she said that certain practices “are highly imperfect,” she was referring to all child welfare systems, not the federal agency.

Florsheim: In the Nov. 15 Image section, an article about a footwear collaboration between Florsheim and George Esquivel said that it included the first women’s footwear collection in Florsheim’s history. Florsheim briefly sold women’s shoes in the late 1960s.

Homelessness: In the Nov. 18 California section, a column about Los Angeles’ homeless population and mental illness referred to an outreach group as Hollywood Forward. The group is Hollywood 4WRD.
