Rare gem: In the Sept. 17 LATExtra section, a photo that accompanied an article about the value of a star-shaped gem found by an Austrian student did not show the gem in question but another piece of benitoite. The same photo also was published with an article in the Aug. 18 California section announcing the discovery.

Trust Act: In the Sept. 17 LATExtra section, an article about the Trust Act, which would restrict the detention of arrestees in local jails who are suspected of being in the country illegally, was accompanied by a headline that described the measure as a border bill. The Trust Act is broad in scope and is not aimed exclusively at those who crossed the U.S. border illegally.

Major league baseball: A column in the Sept. 17 Sports section contrasting the Boston Red Sox organization’s handling of a ceremony honoring Yankees relief pitcher Mariano Rivera with the Angels’ treatment of the Yankees’ Derek Jeter two years ago said that Angels fans did not get to see a presentation from the team to Jeter. The presentation was taped and shown to fans later on the stadium video board.

Underrated/Overrated: In the Underrated/Overrated column in the Sept. 15 Calendar section, an item in about the Danish television series “Borgen” said that its new season would begin Oct. 5. The show will premiere on LinkTV and KCET on Oct. 4.

Fall TV preview: A capsule description of the new DirecTV drama “Full Circle” in the Sept. 15 Calendar II section said that the show would debut Oct. 10. It will debut Oct. 9.
