2.9 earthquake strikes near Marina del Rey
A shallow magnitude 2.9 earthquake was reported Friday evening one mile from Marina del Rey, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 9:55 p.m. Pacific time at a depth of 5.6 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was two miles from Culver City, three miles from Santa Monica and four miles from Inglewood.
