Earthquake: 3.0 quake strikes west of Redding
A shallow magnitude 3.0 earthquake was reported Thursday morning about 20 miles west of Redding, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 6:51 a.m. PDT at a depth of 5.0 miles.
According to the USGS, the epicenter was 40 miles from Fortuna, Calif., 44 miles from Bayside, Calif. and 45 miles from Arcata, Calif.
In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
