Anaheim drowning victim identified

A Chinese exchange student who drowned in an Anaheim residential pool earlier this week has been identified.
Yuan Zhao, 16, was found in a pool in the 800 block of West North Street around 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, according to the Orange County coroner’s office. Yuan was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Yuan had arrived from China several weeks earlier and it is unclear if he knew how to swim. Foul play was not suspected, authorities said.
