Los Angeles police are investigating a body discovered Wednesday afternoon in what was described as a rugged, remote area of Griffith Park, authorities said.
Few details -- including the approximate age or sex of the deceased person -- were immediately available.
The Los Angeles Fire Department said two hikers found the body, which firefighters were working to remove from “rugged canyon terrain.”
An officer at the LAPD’s Northeast Station, which encompasses Griffith Park, said detectives arrived on the scene about 3 p.m.
