11-year-old boy is fatally stabbed; suspect in hospital
An 11-year-old boy was stabbed to death Monday after an apparent family dispute at his home in the Westlake district, police said.
The incident occurred around 9 a.m. in the 200 block of Carondelet Street. The boy was taken to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries, said Los Angeles police officer Norma Eisenman.
A 26-year-old suspect, believed to be the boy’s stepfather, also suffered stab wounds and was being treated at County USC Medical Center. His condition was unknown. Police are unsure how he sustained the wounds, Eisenman said.
Two other people were in the home, but it was uncertain what their relation was to the victim and suspect.
