Brush fire near Castaic Lake now 75% contained
A 700-acre brush fire near Castaic Lake was 75% contained as of Saturday morning, officials said.
The blaze, which began on Friday, reached the northern shore of the lake later in the day, halting its progress, officials said.
Flames had threatened homes and Northlake Elementary School, forcing temporary evacuations. All evacuation orders were lifted on Saturday, said Tony Akins, a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesman.
No injuries have been reported from the fire, Akins said.
