One person killed in three-vehicle crash on 405 Freeway in Torrance
A three-vehicle collision left one man dead and closed four lanes of traffic on the northbound 405 Freeway out of Torrance early Friday, snarling the morning commute, authorities said.
The accident occurred about 5:15 a.m. just north of Artesia Boulevard. The victim, an approximately 35-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol.
It was not immediately clear how many other people were involved in the crash.
The crash initially closed down four lanes of traffic, two of which were still blocked as of 8 a.m. The carpool lane and the lane beside it were expected to open sometime around 8:30 a.m., according to the CHP.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
