BMW driver flees on foot from scene of 101 Freeway crash, police say
Authorities are looking for the driver of a BMW involved in a multivehicle crash on the 101 Freeway late Sunday that injured at least two people.
The collision occurred on the northbound 101 around 11:50 p.m. Sunday near Sepulveda Boulevard in the San Fernando Valley. The black BMW collided with a white Honda, which overturned as result, according to California Highway Patrol.
The overturned Honda blocked multiple lanes of traffic, with the BMW, which had significant front-end damage, stopped against a guardrail. The two occupants of the Honda, a male and female, were taken to Northridge Hospital with major injuries.
The driver of the BMW fled the scene on foot, police said.
A Los Angeles Police Department helicopter and K-9 units assisted with the search for the driver, but he had not been found as of early Monday morning.
