Firefighters on Monday morning knocked down a massive fire at a commercial plastic facility in Glassell Park, officials said.
The blaze started about 5:18 a.m. at Columbia Plastic in the 3000 block of North Fierro Street, an industrial neighborhood along north San Fernando Road, according to Brian Humphrey, a spokesman of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Columbia Plastic is a family-owned business and has been in operation for more than 25 years. The company performs manufacturing and custom packaging services.
