Man killed after being struck by Metrolink train in North Hollywood
A man was fatally struck Thursday by a Metrolink train in North Hollywood, transportation officials said.
The man was on the tracks in a nonpedestrian area near Coldwater Canyon Avenue and Bellaire Avenue when he was hit by the westbound train about 5 p.m., said Scott Johnson, a spokesman for Metrolink.
The East Ventura-bound train, carrying 350 passengers, was delayed for about 2 1/2 hours, Johnson said.
LAPD officer Nuria Vanegas said the victim was a man, but didn’t know his age or name.
The incident is still being investigated.
