Police investigating fatal shooting in South Los Angeles

Police are searching for a suspect in the fatal shooting of a man in South Los Angeles, authorities said.
The victim suffered a gunshot wound just before 6 p.m. Saturday at 92nd Street and Central Avenue, said Officer Cleon Joseph of the Los Angeles Police Department. The man, who authorities said was in his late 40s, has not been identified.
He was transferred to a local hospital where he later died, Joseph said.

The incident was possibly gang-related, he said.
Since 2007, 310 homicides have been reported within two miles of the incident, according to The Times Homicide Report.
