Share

Mild weather on Tuesday will give way to a brisk New Year’s Eve, followed by a pleasant, sunny day for the annual Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl game in Pasadena, forecasters say.

New Year’s Eve revelers can expect the temperature to fall to about 50 degrees at 11 p.m. with no precipitation in the forecast.

For the New Year’s Day festivities in Pasadena, parade watchers would do well to bundle up for the early morning hours, with overnight lows expected to be in the mid-40s, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures will climb to about 76 degrees for game time at the Rose Bowl, where Standford will take on Michigan State.

“It’s going to be another beautiful week, beautiful for the game,” said Stuart Seto of the National Weather Service in Oxnard.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles County’s top health officer has issued a Cold Weather Alert through Thursday for the Antelope Valley area. The alerts are generally issued when wind chills and other factors are expected to push temperatures below 32 degrees.
