Seven people shot and wounded at Moreno Valley house party
At least seven teenage partygoers were shot just after midnight at a moving-out house party in a Moreno Valley neighborhood, and the gunman remains at large, authorities said Sunday.
None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, although investigators did not immediately know the victims’ genders or severity of their wounds, said Deputy Mike Vasquez of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies visited the house – which had an eviction notice posted on its front door – about 45 minutes prior to the shooting to warn a group of teenagers at the house on Heatherglen Road about noise coming from the backyard party, authorities said.
Some partygoers indicated that an uninvited person had crashed the party prior to the shots ringing out. One witness reported that a flurry of automatic gunfire was followed by about 15 more shots, according to KABC-TV Channel 7.
