Corona police are looking for a man suspected of fatally shooting a 56-year-old woman, and said the woman’s adult daughter is missing and may be in danger.

Officers were called to the 700 block of South Merrill Street shortly before 12:30 p.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of a possible shooting, the Corona Police Department said. There, police found Katherine Aguirre, who had been shot multiple times.

Aguirre was taken to Corona Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

A police statement said authorities have not been able to locate Aguirre’s 28-year-old daughter, Crystal Gene Lopez, who was last seen Wednesday morning. The statement did not say why police believe Lopez might be in danger, but said she “has not responded to numerous cellphone calls.”

Authorities asked anyone with information about Lopez to call police at (951) 739-2330.

Police identified Carlos Martin Quezada, 28, of Corona as the suspect and said he was considered armed and dangerous. Authorities urged anyone who sees Quezada not to approach or contact him and to instead call 911.
