Earthquake: 3.9 quake strikes near Mammoth Lakes

A shallow magnitude 3.9 earthquake was reported Monday morning 11 miles from Mammoth Lakes, Calif., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor occurred at 10:04 a.m. PDT at a depth of 5 miles.

According to the USGS, the epicenter was 68 miles from Clovis and 72 miles from Reedley.

In the past 10 days, there have been two earthquakes magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby.
