Woman found under Newport Bay Bridge was shot, police say
A 28-year-old Santa Ana woman whose body was found face-down under the Newport Bay Bridge on Labor Day died of a gunshot wound, Orange County coroner’s officials said Wednesday.
Authorities initially said that Nancy Hammour’s death was suspicious, but are now investigating it as a homicide.
She was found about 8:45 a.m. on Monday.
Hammour had run-ins with law enforcement going back to 2007, according to Orange County court records.
She was found guilty of prostitution and DUI in 2008, and was convicted of possession of a controlled substance in 2012.
In May, she gave birth to a son and was in a “complicated” relationship, according to her Facebook page.
