All-CIF honors for fall sports

Five local athletes have been named All CIF Southern Section in girls’ volleyball (two) and boys’ water polo (three).

The teams were selected earlier this month by the Girls Volleyball Coaches’ and Boys’ Water Polo Coaches’ selection committees and presented by the LA84 Foundation.

All CIF-SS Girls’ Volleyball

Division 1AA

Player of the Year: Norene Iosia, S, Sr., Redondo Union.

Coach of the Year: Tommy Chaffins, Redondo Union. First Team (local players only): Rachel Hall, S, Sr., Huntington Beach; Camryn Sanchez, OH, Jr., Huntington Beach.

Division 1

Player of the Year: Ben Hallock, C, Sr., Harvard-Westlake.

Coach of the Year: Chris Segesman, Mater Dei (division champion).

Team (local players only): Ethan Wojciechowski, UT/ATT, Jr., Huntington Beach; Patrick Saunders, G, Huntington Beach.

Division 6

Player of the Year: Gabriel Thorne, G, Sr., Temescal Canyon.

Coach of the Year: Tim Fredericksen, Segerstrom (division champion).

Team (local players only): Ethan Knox, Jr., Ocean View.
