With almost the entire team back from last season’s City Section Division I championship baseball team, El Camino Real has players who know who how to win and perform under pressure.

It was on display on Tuesday in the Easton tournament. The Conquistadores rallied to tie the game against Valencia, 2-2, in the bottom of the seventh. They rallied again, down, 5-2, in the bottom of the eighth, tying it on an RBI single by Jose Campos. And then the Conquistadores won it on a walk-off single by All-City outfielder Dylan Hirsch for a 6-5 victory.

Valencia’s Chase Farrell threw well, holding the Conquistadores (2-0) scoreless through five innings. But the Conquistadores kept grinding, finally caught up and wouldn’t go down without victory. Ben Fariss had a double, triple and two RBIs for Valencia (1-1).
