Baseball: Franklin, Roybal, Eagle Rock, Chavez are close to reaching Dodger Stadium

One of the perks in playing in City Section Division II baseball is the chance to play the championship game on Saturday at 10 a.m. at Dodger Stadium.
There are four schools left in the running. In Thursday’s semifinals at USC, Franklin will play Roybal at 6 p.m. with Eagle Rock taking on Chavez at 3 p.m.
If you want to see a real celebration, go watch the Division II semifinals. The players don’t hold back on the dogpiles, because making it to Dodger Stadium is sometimes bigger than winning it all.
Roybal is one of the newest schools in LAUSD, and to make it to the final would be quite an achievement. Sophomores David Sanchez and Jesse Ortiz are both hitting above .400.
