Basketball: Crowds are sparse at regional finals
- Share via
Fans did not come out en masse for the Southern California and Northern California basketball regional finals on Saturday.
Attendance was 5,041 for the six games played at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario and 5,815 at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento.
California fans still don’t get as excited for state competition as they do in Indiana, Texas and Pennsylvania. The section championships remain the top drawing card.
The state championships will be played on Friday and Saturday at Sleep Train Arena. All the games will be televised live by Time Warner Cable.
