Boys’ basketball: Oak Hill defeats Sierra Canyon on buzzer beater

Chatsworth Sierra Canyon never trailed against Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill on Saturday night _ until the final buzzer.

Ty-Shon Alexander made a three-point shot from the baseline as the buzzer sounded to give Oak Hill a 49-48 win over Sierra Canyon in the championship game of the Bass Pro TOC championship in Missouri.

It was a tough loss for Sierra Canyon (14-2). Oak Hill (25-1) got the ball out of bounds under the basket with 3.2 seconds left. Alexander received the pass and fired shot that went through the net for the win. It was first time Oak Hill led all night.

Cody Riley scored 18 points and added 15 rebounds for the Trailblazers. Deveral Ramsey had 14 points. Oak Hill plays Santa Ana Mater Dei on Monday in Springfield, Ma.

Even Kittelsen, a 6-foot-4 senior at Crean Lutheran, made 13 threes and finished with 42 points in an 81-36 victory over Downey Calvary Chapel.

Ryan Murphy scored 16 points and Jack Roggin 14 in Calabasas’ 61-53 win over Campbell Hall. Jordan Cohen had 21 points for Campbell Hall. Heritage Christian defeated Nevada Coronado, 83-72. Najeem Nawabi had 31 points.

Simi Valley defeated Renaissance, 58-52. Kyle Hamilton finished with 14 points. El Camino Real defeated Sylmar, 83-59.
