Viewpoint standout has lots of potential

Viewpoint is playing La Salle tonight for the Southern Section Division 4A championship at 6:45 p.m. at Santa Ana Godinez. Senior guard Christian Juzang, headed to Harvard, has certainly left a lasting legacy whether Viewpoint wins or loses.
The Patriots have been able to battle their way to prominence in the tough Gold Coast League, where Sierra Canyon, Windward, Campbell Hall and Brentwood are suddenly receiving competition.
That’s where Juzang has come in. His leadership and unselfish play has the Patriots back playing for a championship. Last season they lost in overtime to Windward in the 5AA final.
To no one’s surprise, La Salle has come on strong in the first year under former Price Coach Michael Lynch.
Former Price player Christian Oyie-Little has come through with some big games. So has 6-foot-6 junior Jaice Gardner, the son of former La Salle Coach Jelani Gardner.
Juzang is going to face heavy defensive pressure in trying to get his teammates involved.
This one is going down to the wire. Having Juzang on the court will make Coach JJ Prince feel pretty good.
