Boys’ basketball: Monte Vista’s Trevor John makes six threes in first half

It’s halftime of the Division I state championship game, and Trevor John of Monte Vista has tied the Division I record with six three-pointers to help his team take a 35-28 halftime lead over Corona Centennial. The state record overall is seven by former Santa Margarita standout Klay Thompson in 2008.
John, a Cal Poly commit, has 18 points. Monte Vista has made eight of nine shots from three-point range.
