The Taft-El Camino Real football game ended Friday night with the officials ruling that El Camino Real’s Marquis Stepteau failed to get into the end zone on the game’s final play, leaving Taft with a 28-21 victory.
But a review of video indicates Stepteau did cross the plane before he went out of bounds, according to El Camino Real Coach Kevin Williams.
“If there was a red hanky, I would have thrown it,” Williams said. “We would have gone for two. I had the play and we would have scored. It was a tough call for the officials to make.”
