Football: Koa Farmer leaves for Penn State
- Share via
Koa Farmer, the standout defensive back from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame, begins his college journey on Sunday night when he leaves for Penn State.
It’s always a challenge when a player who grew up in Southern California leaves for a school far from home, but Farmer seems certain on his decision and is well prepared for the task at hand.
The opportunity is there for him to contribute immediately. He worked hard in the spring during track season continuing to improve his speed.
I’ll always remember his play against Chaminade, hurdling over a defender on his way to a touchdown.
I covered his father, Jamal, when he played for Granada Hills’ 1987 City Section championship team.
The son has made his father proud on and off the field.
