Track: Amir Ali Patterson qualifies for World Junior Championships
Former Encino Crespi shot putter Amir Ali Patterson finished second on Sunday at the USATF Junior Outdoor Championships with an effort of 63-2 3/4 to qualify to represent the United States in the IAAF World Junior Championships July 22-27 in Eugene, Ore.
Patterson will be a freshman at UCLA this fall.
St. John Bosco’s Matt Katnik finished fourth at 60-11 1/4 but did not qualify.
