Track & Field: LB Poly clocks fastest relay time

In the first running event of the day, Long Beach Poly won its heat and easily clocked the fastest qualifying time in the girls 4x100 relay at the state track prelims in Clovis.

Poly ran the lap in 45.85, Gardena Serra won its heat and was third overall in 46.74, Harvard-Westlake was fourth overall in 46.46, Vista Murrieta won its heat and was fifth overall in 46.88, Oaks Christian was sixth in 47.00 and Corona Roosevelt (47.10) also qualified for Saturday’s finals.

For the boys, Woodcreek of the Sac-Joaquin Section was first overall in 41.26. City Section champion Carson was fourth (41.51), Alemany was fifth in 41.67, Monrovia was sixth in 41.75 and Chaminade (41.79) got the ninth and last qualifying spot
