The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Lakers in five games. Kevin Durant is in the Western Conference finals, Kobe Bryant is watching them on TV. Has Durant surpassed Bryant as the better player? If you were starting a team today, who would you pick?
Breaking down the playoff series, Durant averaged 26.8 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game, while Bryant averaged 31.2 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.4 assists. Kobe shot 43% from the field, Durant 52%.
Durant held Bryant to two-for-10 from the field in the fourth quarter of Game 4 while the Thunder rallied to win. Bryant scored 42 points in the Game 5 loss.
