Robinson tied a career high with 19 rebounds, and Long Beach State the 49ers used a late run and stellar free-throw shooting to beat Pacific 76-66 on Saturday the Tigers. Ware hit three three-pointers, giving him 159 for his career and moving him into fifth place on LBSU’s Long Beach State’s all-time list.

at UC Riverside 60, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 53: Phil Martin scored 13 points, including four big free throws in the final minute, and UC Riverside continued its all-time best-ever Big West Conference start with a 60-53 win Saturday over Cal Poly. Martin was coming off a career-high 33 points in an overtime win over UC Santa Barbara on Thursday.

at Cal State Northridge 84, UC Davis 80: Vinnie McGhee scored 16 points and Cal State -Northridge used a 20-1 spurt late in the game to defeat UC Davis 84-80 Saturday night. UC Davis looked well on its way to snapping a 12-game losing streak, leading, 71-60, with 6:40 left in the game. But McGhee hit a three-pointer to start a 16-0 Matadors run. After an Aggies free throw, McGhee hit four free throws to put Northridge on top, 80-72, with 39 seconds remaining.

at UC Santa Barbara 74, UC Irvine 56: Orlando Johnson scored 15 points and Alan Williams had 13 rebounds and four blocked shots as UC Santa Barbara defeated UC Irvine 74-56 Saturday night. Keegan Hornbuckle had 14 points and James Nunnally scored 11, and each both also contributed four steals for the Gauchos (8-6, 3-1 Big West), who have won three of their last four.

Gonzaga 62, at Loyola Marymount 58 Elias Harris scored 19 points and Gary Bell added 16 to help No. 21 Gonzaga beat Loyola Marymount 62-58 on Saturday night the Bulldogs. Kevin Pangos scored nine points and Robert Sacre had eight for the Bulldogs (14-3, 4-1 West Coast Conference) Gonzaga, who which pulled away early in the second half to avoid a second straight upset.

The game was close all the way. Perry Webster hit a three-point basket for Cal State Fullerton (10-6) with a minute to play to tie the contest for the ninth time.

WOMEN

USC 47, at UCLA 43: The USC women’s basketball team The Trojans snapped a four-game skid against the crosstown rival UCLA Bruins with a defensive stand today against the Bruins in a 47-43 Trojan victory. Behind 10 points and eight assists from Ashley Corral, the Women of Troy the Trojans overmatched the Bruins to notch USC’s fourth straight win of the year. The Trojans improve to 9-6 overall and are 5-1 in Pac-12 play. UCLA goes to 7-9, 2-3.
