Long Beach State beats Cal Poly, 78-69

Long Beach State 78, at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 69: Casper Ware made five of six three-point attempts on the way to 30 points to lead the 49ers (13-6, 6-0 Big West). Larry Anderson had 20 points against the Mustangs (11-8, 2-4).

at UC Santa Barbara 69, Cal State Northridge 61: Orlando Johnson lived up to his status as the Big West’s leading scorer, getting 21 points to lead the Gauchos (9-6, 4-1). Stephan Hicks led the Matadors (5-11, 2-4) with 18 points off the bench.

Loyola Marymount 82, at Brigham Young 68: Anthony Ireland had 27 points, five assists and five steals as the Lions (11-8, 4-2 WCC) won their sixth consecutive game. Noah Hartsock had 28 points for the Cougars (16-5, 5-2).

at No. 24 St. Mary’s 61, Pepperdine 47: The Gaels (18-2, 7-0 WCC) remained the only unbeaten team in the conference. Caleb Willis had 14 points and Corbin Moore had 15 rebounds for the Waves (7-11, 1-6), who have lost six in a row.

WOMEN

at UCLA 69, Oregon State 60: Rebekah Gardner scored 19 points and Markel Walker just missed a triple-double (16 points, 18 rebounds, nine assists) for the Bruins (8-9, 3-3 Pac-12). The Beavers fell to 11-7, 2-5.

Ali Gibson’s 16 points led the Beavers (11-7, 2-5), who have lost two in a row and five of six. Sage Indendi scored 13 and Earlysia Marchbanks 11.

at USC 92, Oregon 73: Briana Gilbreath had 18 points, 11 assists, nine rebounds and five blocked shots for the Trojans (10-6, 5-1, Pac-12), who won their fifth in a row. Liz Brenner led the Ducks (10-9, 2-5) with 16 points.

Cassie Harberts added 17 points, Christina Marinacci had 14 points and 10 rebounds and Alexyz Vaioletama had 12 points for USC, which trailed 12-4 early but roared back to lead 49-36 at halftime.
