Jets lose Darrelle Revis for season

Cornerback Darrelle Revis, the New York Jets’ best player, is done for the season with a knee injury.

Coach Rex Ryan confirmed the news Monday at his weekly news conference, adding, “Everybody has to step up ... and that’s it.”

Revis suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in the third quarter of Sunday’s 23-20 overtime victory at Miami. He wasn’t hit on the play, but fell awkwardly and grabbed his knee in pain.

He hopped to the sideline and into the passenger seat of a golf cart and was driven off the field.

Revis sat out the Jets’ game against Pittsburgh in Week 2 because of a mild concussion.

In the first half Sunday, the Dolphins lost their best player, running back Reggie Bush, after he took a helmet to the knee. He came into the game as the NFL’s second-leading rusher. He did not play after the injury but spent part of the second half on a stationary bicycle on Miami’s sideline.

Bush could miss a few weeks, according to a report in the Palm Beach Post.
