Zenyatta delivers second colt

Zenyatta has become a mother for the second time, delivering a colt on Monday night.

He’s a leggy chestnut with a white blaze similar to Zenyatta, according to Zenyatta.com. The father is Tapit.

It’s the second foal for Zenyatta since her retirement at the end of 2010. Her first foal, by Bernardini, was born on March 8 of last year.

Zenyatta won 19 of 20 starts and was the 2010 Horse of the Year.

The birth was at Lane’s End Farm in Versailles, Ky.
