Three weeks into the season and there is no shortage of under-the-radar pitchers having their way with hitters and putting up impressive numbers.

Good deals

Hisashi Iwakuma

SP | Seattle

The 32-year-old from Tokyo, who pitched 10 seasons in Japan, was solid for the Mariners in 2012 and has been nearly unhittable this season. After six scoreless innings against Detroit on Thursday, Iwakuma sports a 2-0 record and a 1.69 earned-run average. Opponents are hitting .135 against Iwakuma, who has struck out 18 and walked two.

Shelby Miller

SP | St. Louis

Despite a 4.74 ERA in triple A last year, Miller was brought up to the big club during the team’s playoff drive and hasn’t sniffed the minor leagues since. He’s 2-1 with a 1.96 ERA this season, and has walked one and struck out 14 in his last two starts.

Jose Quintana

SP | Chicago White Sox

Not overpowering in 22 starts last year, Quintana has teamed with Chris Sale and Jake Peavy to give the White Sox the makings of a solid starting rotation. Not much of a strikeout artist in the minors, the 24-year-old Colombian has struck out 17 hitters in 172/3 innings, to go with 2.55 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP.

No bargain

Julio Teheran

SP | Atlanta

Fantasy owners in at least one auction (mine) were drooling over the 22-year-old right-hander after he dominated the Grapefruit League this spring — he gave up seven hits and had 35 strikeouts in 26 innings. However, in three starts Teheran has no wins, a 7.31 ERA and 1.75 WHIP, which is not worth a hefty price tag.
