Carmelo Anthony’s big fourth quarter lifts Knicks

Carmelo Anthony scored 16 points in the fourth quarter and finished with 40, helping the New York Knicks defeat the host Orlando Magic, 114-106, Saturday night.

J.R. Smith scored 18 points off the bench and Tyson Chandler had 14 points and 12 rebounds.

The Knicks have won four games in a row against the Magic dating to last season.

Arron Afflalo and Jameer Nelson each had 29 points to lead the Magic, and Nik Vucevic contributed 11 points and 18 rebounds.

Orlando had 14 turnovers as it extended its longest losing streak of the season to eight games.

Boston 89, at Atlanta 81: Rajon Rondo had 14 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists, and the Celtics rallied from a 19-point deficit. Paul Pierce scored 17 points in the third quarter and finished with 26. Lou Williams had 28 points for the Hawks.

New Orleans 99, at Dallas 96: Eric Gordon completed a three-point play with 4.7 seconds left in overtime and the Hornets spoiled the first game this season for the Mavericks with Dirk Nowitzki in the starting lineup. Nowitzki had a team-high 20 points in 34 minutes.

at Brooklyn 113, Sacramento 93: Brook Lopez scored 18 points in 17 minutes to lead six players in double figures and the Nets won their third consecutive game. DeMarcus Cousins had 28 points and 11 rebounds for the Kings.

at Indiana 95, Milwaukee 80: Roy Hibbert had 20 points, 15 rebounds and five blocked shots to lead the Pacers to their seventh consecutive home victory. Monta Ellis led the Bucks with 21 points.

Houston 112, at Cleveland 104: James Harden scored 29 points, including 16 in the fourth quarter, and Jeremy Lin had 20 to help the Rockets win for the 11th time in their last 14 games. Kyrie Irving led Cleveland with 30 points.

Portland 102, at Minnesota 97: Nicolas Batum and Wesley Matthews each scored 26 points to lead the Trail Blazers, who made a season-high 16 three-point baskets.

at San Antonio 109, Philadelphia 86: Tony Parker had 20 points and Manu Ginobili had 19 to help the Spurs win at home for the 10th consecutive time. Spencer Hawes had a game-high 22 points for the 76ers.

at Denver 110, Utah 91: Danilo Gallinari scored 26 points and the Nuggets improved to 11-2 at home this season. The Nuggets beat the Jazz for the eighth time in the last 10 meetings between the teams at Denver.
