NBA’s Kevin Durant, WNBA’s Monica Wright engaged to be married

Oklahoma City Thunder star Kevin Durant loves basketball. That’s basically the reason he gave for attending a WNBA preseason game back in May.
Turns out, he loves one of the players involved in that game as well, Minnesota Lynx guard Monica Wright.
So much so that the two are now engaged to be married. Wright confirmed the engagement following the Lynx’s 91-59 victory over the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday night.
Although they’ve been known to be friends since meeting as McDonalds’ High School All-Americans in 2006, the fact that Durant and Wright are romantically involved seems to have gone unnoticed by the media.
In fact, in May, a Fox Sports North article about the longtime friendship between them made no mention of a romance.
Selected with the second overall pick in 2007, Durant has led the NBA in scoring in four of his six seasons. Wright set a single-season scoring record during her four years at Virginia and is in her fourth WNBA season.
