Tony Allen’s dramatics helped the Memphis Grizzlies push the San Antonio Spurs to overtime in Game 2 of the Western Conference finals, but it also cost him $5,000.

The NBA announced Friday that Allen had been fined for violating the league’s anti-flopping rule, according to the Associated Press.

He is the fourth player to be fined for the act during the postseason, joining the Indiana Pacers’ Jeff Pendergraph, the New York Knicks’ J.R. Smith and the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Derek Fisher.

On the play in question, Allen was driving to the hoop when the Spurs’ Manu Ginobili reached out and grabbed his arm to prevent the easy transition basket, sending the Grizzlies guard tumbling to the floor. Ginobili was called for a flagrant one.

After hitting the deck, Allen rolled around on the floor grabbing his head in what appeared to be serious pain, however, as the video replay showed, Allen never hit the ground with his head.

Allen then made two critical foul shots that put the Grizzlies within two, 85-83.

On the ensuing possession from the flagrant call, Memphis’ Mike Conley hit a seven-foot jumper to tie the game with 18.2 seconds left in the fourth quarter.

San Antonio’s Tim Duncan missed an 18-foot jump shot with two seconds left in the fourth quarter, sending the game to overtime.

In the extra frame, the Grizzlies were able to add just four points and lost to the Spurs, 93-89.

San Antonio has a 2-0 series lead over Memphis. Game 3 is scheduled for 6 p.m. Saturday at the FedExForum in Memphis.
