Blake Griffin injures left knee

Share

Clippers All-Star forward Blake Griffin suffered a bone bruise in his left knee during Wednesday night’s intra-squad scrimmage.

The team said Griffin got a precautionary MRI Wednesday night that showed no structural damage to the knee.

Griffin didn’t practice Thursday, and there is no timetable for his return to practice.

Griffin was injured while driving to the basket after he was fouled by Lou Admundson.

Griffin stayed down on the court for a while before getting up to shoot two free throws.

The Clippers practice again Friday before they leave later that night for an exhibition game in Utah against the Jazz on Saturday night.

From the sound of things, Griffin probably won’t play in that game.

“Blake hurt his knee, but it was nothing bad,” Clippers Coach Doc Rivers said before the team practiced on Thursday. “But he tweaked it. It was on the dunk attempt. He said he did it going up. So he’s out.”
