Kyrie Irving says he won’t pull a LeBron James and leave Cleveland
Be careful what you say, especially if you’re a famous basketball player and there are cameras near.
A video featuring Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving that was apparently posted in 2011 is once again making its rounds on the Internet.
In the video, a child asks Irving: “Are you going to leave us like LeBron left us?”
Responds Irving: “That’s a great question. No, I won’t leave you. How could I leave you guys?”
We’ll see if Irving keeps his word down the line. Irving has a team option for the 2014-15 season, and he’s scheduled to be a restricted free agent for 2015-16.
We don’t know what Irving will decide, but we do know that we’ll be seeing much more of this video come decision time.
