Norwegian curlers look to make fashion statement at Sochi Olympics

Four years ago in Vancouver, the Norwegian curlers made news with the colorful uniforms they wore at the Olympics.

Get ready for more bombastic fashion at the 2014 Sochi Games.

Loudmouth Golf, the Northern California company that makes the outfits, has unveiled several new versions for Norway’s early matches in Russia and is promising a bigger statement in the later rounds.

“It’s all red, white and blue,” Loumouth Chief Executive Larry Jackson told the Associated Press. “I do believe it’s going to be considered even more loud.”

The manufacturer first drew attention by dressing golfer John Daly in bright colors and crazy prints. It also outfitted the U.S. beach volleyball players at the 2012 London Olympics.

The designs have not won over Norway’s curling coach.

“Put it like this, you’ll not see me wearing them,” Pal Trulsen was quoted as saying. “Except maybe at a bad-taste party or something.”
