College basketball roundup: Arizona holds off Grand Canyon, 64-54

Kobi Simmons scored 13 points, Rawle Alkins had 11 points and eight rebounds, and No. 19 Arizona outlasted Grand Canyon, 64-54, on Wednesday night at Tucson.
The Wildcats (9-2) built a 16-point lead in the first half but committed 19 turnovers overall and allowed the Antelopes (5-5) to rally most of the way back.
DeWayne Russell had 19 points for Grand Canyon.

at No. 4 Baylor 89, Southern 59: Johnathan Motley had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Bears (9-0), who scored 15 of the game’s first 18 points and shot 64% in the first half to put it away early. Jared Sam and Shawn Prudhomme each scored 24 points for the Jaguars (4-6).
at No. 14 Wisconsin 73, Green Bay 59: Nigel Hayes scored 24 points for the Badgers (10-2), who trailed, 12-11, before going on a 20-4 run that included a nearly five-minute scoreless drought by the Phoenix (4-6). Kerem Kanter led Green Bay with 18 points.
at No. 20 St. Mary’s 73, Western Kentucky 51: Jock Landale had 15 points and 13 rebounds and the Gaels (8-1) took control early. Justin Johnson and Que Johnson each scored 11 points for the Hilltoppers (4-6).
SOUTHLAND
MEN
at Nevada 76, UC Irvine 69: Jordan Caroline had 15 points and 13 rebounds to help the Wolf Pack (9-2) win their fourth consecutive game. Eyassu Worku scored 19 points for the Anteaters (5-7) and Tommy Rutherford had 14 rebounds.
WOMEN
No. 9 UCLA 71, at UC Santa Barbara 52: Jordin Canada scored 30 points, Monique Billings had 17 and the Bruins (8-1) improved to 13-2 all-time against the Gauchos (2-7), who got 11 points from Sarah Porter.
