Ricky Rubio and Andrew Wiggins scored 18 points each and the Minnesota Timberwolves snapped a nine-game losing streak with a 117-87 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Sunday.

Karl-Anthony Towns had 14 points and eight rebounds for the Timberwolves, who improved to 6-17 at home. They shot 56.5% from the field and got 11 points and eight rebounds from Shabazz Muhammad to win for the first time since they beat Utah on Dec. 30.

Brandon Knight scored 20 points on nine-for-20 shooting, and Markieff Morris had 17 points and five rebounds for free-falling Phoenix. The Suns have lost 13 of 14 games to drop to 13-29.

The good news for both of these struggling franchises coming into the game was that someone had to win. The Timberwolves had lost 13 of their previous 14 games, bringing heavy criticism on interim Coach Sam Mitchell.

at San Antonio 112, Dallas 83: LaMarcus Aldridge scored 23 points and the Spurs received an early spark from Jonathon Simmons to beat the Mavericks and remain undefeated at home. The Spurs are a franchise-best 24-0 at home to open the season and have won 33 straight at the AT&T Center dating to March 2015.

at Oklahoma City 99, Miami 74: Russell Westbrook had his second consecutive triple-double to help the Thunder beat the Heat. Westbrook finished with 13 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists. It was his fifth triple-double of the season and the 24th of his career.

at Denver 129, Indiana 126: Randy Foye hit a go-ahead three-pointer with 21 seconds left and the Nuggets rallied to beat the Pacers. The Nuggets came back in the second half to get their seventh straight win at home over the Pacers.
