Washington Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III and Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green each suffered injuries Sunday, and were forced to leave their respective games early.

Griffin suffered a dislocated left ankle against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first quarter, and was carted off the field. Washington Coach Jay Gruden wouldn’t speculate after the game as to how long Griffin might be out. He said the team plans to conduct more tests Monday.

Griffin was injured on a rollout after falling awkwardly on his right leg. He was immediately taken out of the game. Shortly afterward, the team announced he would not return.

Green aggravated a previous toe injury he had been nursing in practice this week after a first-quarter play against the Atlanta Falcons.

Green, the Bengals’ top receiver, limped off the field during Cincinnati’s first drive. The team later announced he would not return to the game because of a right toe injury.
