Chivas’ Erick Torres, Galaxy’s Robbie Keane make MLS All-Star team

Forwards Erick Torres of Chivas USA and Robbie Keane of the Galaxy are among the 12 reserves selected for the MLS All-Star team, which will play German powerhouse club Bayern Munich on Aug. 6 in Portland, Ore.

Portland Timbers Coach Caleb Porter announced the rest of the selections during halftime of the Galaxy’s game against Sporting Kansas City on Saturday. The starters, who are chosen by fans, were announced Wednesday and included forward Landon Donovan and defender Omar Gonzalez of the Galaxy.

Torres was one of two commissioner’s picks. Don Garber also selected Argentine midfielder Diego Valeri of the Timbers.

The Seattle Sounders have five players on the squad after Porter chose midfielder Osvaldo Alonso and defender Chad Marshall to join starters Clint Dempsey, Obafemi Martins and DeAndre Yedlin.
