Tony Stewart pulls out of another race; crash inquiry continues
NASCAR star Tony Stewart has pulled out of this weekend’s Sprint Cup series event at Michigan International Speedway, according to the Stewart-Haas Racing team.
Veteran driver Jeff Burton will be behind the wheel of the No. 14 Mobil 1/Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet SS in Stewart’s place, according to the team.
Stewart also didn’t compete in Sunday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup race.
Stewart remains under investigation by New York authorities after he hit and killed Kevin Ward Jr. during a Canandaigua Motorsports Park event in New York on Saturday night.
To this point, authorities have said the incident appears to be a tragic accident. No arrests have been made, but the investigation is ongoing.
