HONOLULU

Lantern Floating Hawaii Ceremony

When, where: May 30, Magic Island at Ala Moana Beach Park

Highlights: During this annual Memorial Day remembrance, thousands of people gather at sundown to release into the water more than 2,000 candlelighted lanterns to honor ancestors, loved ones who died and soldiers lost to war.
