Deal: Summer in the desert? $100 rooms and 7 pools at this Palm Springs resort keep it cool

Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa near Palm Springs offers rooms starting at $100 a night and free breakfast for those who stay at least three nights during its toasty summer season.

The deal: The Sunshine on Sale rate requires a three-night minimum stay at the 45-acre desert resort in Indian Wells.

Yes it will be hot, but you can test out the resort’s seven swimming pools, including one with a new oval-shaped water slide you can do forward, backward or sideways called the DesertPipe.

Rooms start at $100 a night with daily breakfast for two at the Lantana Restaurant. You’ll also be charged a $25 daily resort fee, which gives you free Wi-Fi, golf course shuttle, exercise classes and other amenities.

When: The offer is good for stays from June 7 through Sept. 1.

Tested: I checked availability over Father’s Day weekend (June 17 to 20) and found discounted rooms starting at $126 a night for a king-sized bed and $140 a night for two queen-sized beds.

Standard prices for the same rooms on the same nights are $159 to $179 a night, respectively.

Midweek prices are lower than weekends for this summer deal. Also, this deal requires payment in full when you book and is nonrefundable.
